We invite you to join your queer community for a 7-day experience of wellness in the glorious Diamante Valley of Costa Rica. This experience will bring in the best elements of embodiment practices (yoga, mediation, movement, breathwork, etc), modern psychology, and sacred medicine ceremonies, and will be set in a beautiful location of abundant nature and surrounded by a supportive community. This is the first time we are hosting this retreat, so it is being offered at a reduced rate as a “facilitators and friends” retreat as we experiment with this format and modalities.

The practices, experiences, and ceremonies will weave three key themes throughout the retreat:

  1. You are already whole (no need to seek validation or approval through love, success, money, or adventure)
  2. We are inextricably tied to nature and ultimately connected to all things
  3. We thrive in community

We will explore these themes, and will invite a deep inquiry of how these concepts ring true in our lives, and where these ideas are blocked. As a part of this exploration, we will look at our relationship with eroticism, sexuality, and sex, and how the pleasurable experience of those are connected to our ability to be in integrity within ourselves as we negotiate consent.

Each day we will explore meditation, movement, reflection, nature adventures, and group dialogue. In addition to the scheduled elements of the retreat, we will have plenty of time to relax and savor our exquisite natural settings, and process our learnings, and grow from the supportive community we will create.

The retreat will offer three sacred medicine rituals and the sessions will either be individual, semi-private, or group based on each individual’s participant’s experience and situation. All medicine experiences are optional. For those inexperienced with these medicines in intentional settings (therapeutic settings), individual preparation sessions may be recommended and may be possible in advance of the retreat.

In addition to the retreat experience, we will meet via zoom in advance of the retreat to prepare you for the retreat, help you begin to set intentions, and begin to build safety and community within the group. In addition, for several weeks following the retreat, we will offer weekly integration calls to ensure the fruitful integration of lessons, growth, and healing into your daily life.

This retreat is tailored for participants with prior experience with sacred medicines. For the health and safety of all participants, we will have each participant complete an application before being accepted to the retreat.

The retreat includes:

  • All events, practices, and ceremonies
  • All meals, using local, organically grown ingredients whenever possible
  • Shared accommodations in a comfortable “glamping” tent (please note any requested roommates on your registration form)
  • Preparation and integration
  • Group transportation from San Jose airport to the retreat location near Tinamaste, Costa Rica – roughly 3.5 hours from San Jose

The retreat does not include:

  • Airfare to Costa Rica
  • Cost of COVID-19 test for return travel if necessary (we will arrange for testing – more on this below).

Booking process: Please submit your application to secure your spot, including your payment in full. We will follow up with a screening questionnaire to evaluate physical and emotional safety for the medicine experiences. We will respond within a few days of receiving your questionnaire to approve your application and schedule a conversation with the facilitators. If it is determined that this retreat is not a good match for you, your payment will be refunded in full. Please do not book non-refundable travel until after your application has been approved.

COVID-19 Protocol: We will request all participants either show a vaccination record or a negative COVID-19 test result preformed within 3 days of traveling to Costa Rica. Currently, all travelers returning to the US are required to show a negative COVID test result within 72 hours of return travel to the US. We will facilitate all guests getting this test if this is still required at the time of the retreat (cost not included).

Please note: This will be the first retreat held in a brand new facility. We will do our best to have the experience as comfortable as possible for you, but please be patient if some systems are still being worked out, or if there are signs of construction around the property. Retreats of this duration are usually at least twice the price that we are asking. In addition to a desire to make this retreat as accessible as possible, requesting patience with the new facility is one additional reason for the reduced rate.

Cancellation / Refund policy: Full refund available for cancellations before May 1, 2021. 50% available until May 15, 2021. No refund given for cancellations after May 15, 2021. If it is determined that this retreat is not a good match for you, your payment will be refunded in full.
